The Care Home Group's Latimer Lodge residential care home in Yeovil was recognised as the best residential development of the year at a prestigious regional property award this month.
The 5-star luxury home - which underwent an extensive refurbishment by The Care Home Group and opened in January 2017 - was one of eight projects shortlisted under the 'Residential Development of the Year' category at Insider magazine's South West Property Awards 2017. The award was presented to Rob Fielder, Executive Director of Care and Support and Kelly Mitchell, Regional Manager at a ceremony that took place on 5th October at the Marriott Hotel in Bristol.
Originally a beautiful Victorian villa built in 1889 before being extended and used as both a veterinary surgery and a care home, Latimer Lodge now caters for 13 residents with stunning interiors and fine dining, operated by the Group's care operator Caring Communities. It is the Group's flagship home - with the adjacent Tyndale House opening in the autumn of 2017.
The Insider Property awards celebrate the achievements of those in the South West’s commercial property and construction sector, acknowledging those companies and organisations whose work has stood out from the crowd in the past year.
The award citation read:
"...Latimer Lodge by The Care Home Group challenges perceptions of how we expect older generations to live. This luxury accommodation raises the bar of what's possible and hopefully will help to push forward standards across the industry. The judges also praised The Care Home Group’s detailed entry, revealing how the conversion had been achieved."
"We are delighted that the work and investment we have put in to bring Latimer Lodge back to life as a modern care facility has been recognised with our award. Beating other excellent residential and care developments on the shortlist, Latimer Lodge is a great example of how we are delivering the very best in care accommodation and providing new residential solutions for those in later life."
