Extensive renovation and fit-out works to transform the former Latimer Lodge residential care home in Yeovil into a 5-star luxury Care Community are now well underway.
Removal of existing furniture and fittings from the home, which closed in October 2015, is now complete and interior remodelling work will soon begin to create new and improved communal areas, a beauty salon and 13 en-suite care studios.
The project is Phase 1 of The Care Home Group's flagship Yeovil Care Community site, which also includes the former Tyndale Nursing Home (to be renovated as Phase 2) and Coverdale Court sheltered accommodation, which has 14 units with full occupancy.
The Care Home Group is being advised by experienced care sector architects Boon Brown on the project, with interior fit-out and design from care sector specialists Just Imagine Contract Interiors.
With advertising hoardings announcing the availability of care studios for sale and lease now displayed at the site's Preston Road entrance, the company will soon be releasing computer generated imagery of the proposed interior designs, with open days and tours planned in advance of its planned July opening.
Sean Murray, CEO of The Care Home Group said: "It's hugely exciting to have construction works now underway at our first care community and we look forward to sharing our vision of 5-star luxury care accommodation in the coming weeks."
